Eastbourne & District Competition Finals
The Eastbourne Finals took place on Saturday May 11 at Uckfield’s range in East Hoathly. Despite the atrocious weather outside the clubhouse, the outlook was bright for East Grinstead with representatives in almost every final.

The following club members made it through to the Eastbourne Finals on Saturday:
Congratulations to all our shooters that made it to the finals. The sun was out and it was warm in the range! After a mixed afternoon of shooting Andy Meyers came away as victor in the Spain and Albury, and Caffyn Cups.
Members from East Grinstead won several honours at the Eastbourne League Finals on Saturday. We retained the Russell Cup (team of three consisting of Andy Meyers, Jim Howard and Malcolm Brain). Graham Fell won the Caffyn Cup, Elaine Kettle won the Spicer Cup, Malcolm Brain was placed third in the Veterans. Samantha Kettle was joint first in the Cardwell Ladies Cup with Linda Smallbone of Eastbourne RC after three shoot offs! A tremendous effort when up against someone of Linda's talent. Andy Meyers also took second in the Spain & Albury Cup.

East Grinstead target shooters walked away with a good haul of silver from the Eastbourne League annual dinner and prize-giving. Malcolm Brain won the Lodge Cup for the Long Range Summer Aggregate Macrae Handicap competition, plus the Presidents Cup for the biggest percentage increase in average in the Winter League. Malcolm also achieved the highest average in Division Three.
On the same day three members made their way to East Hoathly for the Eastbourne and District Finals. Tim Green was in the Spain & Aldbury Cup (Eastbourne Championship) and tied for 2nd with Barry Butler (Eastbourne) and Richard Woolger (Southwick). Following a re-gauge (.25) Tim ended the day in 4th.
