Sixty entrants from 12 clubs in the South East enjoyed the East Grinstead Target Shooting Club's Spring Open meeting. For once the weather was consistent on both days with sunshine and hardly a breeze to stir the wind flags.
Some excellent scores were posted but veteran Graham Ramsey of Cuckfield won A Class with a score of 783 ex 800, just pipping Adam Cornbill of Southwick on 782. The Ladies Dewar was won by Linda Smallbone of Eastbourne. Runner up in the ladies competition Karen Kennedy of Horsham who dominated Class C winning the Observer Cup with a score of 774, the Dewar competition and best 40 shots at 50 metres and 100 yards.
Tom Harvey of East Grinstead won the B Class Dewar, with Geoff Gilbert achieving the best 40 shots at 100 yards in D Class.
Hosts East Grinstead were delighted to welcome Philip Baker, Vice-Chairman of East Grinstead War Memorial Limited to present the trophies.
