The Spring Open Shoot at the East Grinstead Target Shooting Club saw some high scores posted by 50 competitors of all ages and abilities over the weekend. Shooters from ten Clubs in the South East enjoyed some challenging conditions at 50m and 100 yards, varying from light winds and sunshine to blustery rain. Top shooter on the day winning Class A was Michael Dowe of St Nicholas who dropped just 16 points ex 800 just 4 points ahead of Peter Terry of Fittleworth. East Grinstead benefited from good team shooting from Andy Meyers, Malcolm Brain and David White by winning the Team of Three competition; while Elaine Kettle won the Open Dewar and Stephen Dryburgh achieved the highest score for 40 shots at 100 yards in Class D. Juniors from Aldingbourne did very well with Joe Newington winning the Juniors' Dewar and Scott Strotten winning Class D overall.
