The East Grinstead Target Shooting Club was pleased to welcome the Mayor of East Grinstead Councillor John Saull to their Spring Open Shoot on 15 April. There were 43 visitors to East Grinstead from across the South East who competed in a combined 50 metre and 100 yard match under cold and blustery conditions. The overall winner was Paul Duxbury from Bookham Rifle Club in Surrey, with a total of 783 out of a possible 800, who also won the Open Dewar competition. Class B was won by Tony Payne of Cuckfield with 762 who also won the Open Dewar; Class C by Holly Austen of Ramsgate and Dover with 757, who also won the Juniors Dewar, 40 shots at 50m and the Class C&D Open Pairs with Dave Austen. Samantha Kettle of East Grinstead won Class D with a score of 736 plus the Class D 40 shots at both 50 metres and 100 yards.
The Mayor presented prizes to a range of winners including Holly Austen of Ramsgate & Dover and Samantha Kettle of East Grinstead.
Rob from HPS was present and several competitors took advantage of his services to get their rifles serviced while at the shoot.
