International Dewar Trials, Appleton 2016

(Photo: The Dewar Team)

Club members Andy Meyers and Malcolm Brain shot in the trials today. Andy made the team... Malcolm missed the cut in squad A by a couple of points. Had he been in squad B he would have been ok!

Andy scored 396 in the 100yds - top score! To quote Andy, the less said about the 50s the better... good enough, anyway to put him 2 points inside the cut in squad B.

Congratulations to Andy and commiserations to Malcolm.

City of London Finals 23 April 2016

This weekend saw the City of London Finals at the Surbiton Postal Rifle Club in Kingston on Thames with the "C" team and several individuals from East Grinstead TSC in attendance.

The day didn't start well with a water main burst on the A243 closing the road. The satnavs picked a variety of very interesting alternative routes! Despite this all arrived in plenty of time and were raring to go!

Work Party 10 April 2016

Range

The work party got quite a bit done on the range to get it ready for the open shoot.:

  • Cleared leaves from firing point (Elaine Kettle)
  • Trimmed more of the trees down the lefthand side of the range (Andy Meyers, Jim Howard)
  • Cleared ditches (Malcolm Brain)
  • Burnt all the trimmings (blokes!).

So quite a useful work party. Thanks everyone.

Five members shot for the whole of the week, one shot for the first weekend, plus 3 more for the last Saturday, when the East Grinstead club team represented Sussex County in the Astor competition.
